OpenAI — Ongoing collaboration
As a charismatic leader in artificial general intelligence, OpenAI works to connect humanity and technology. It consistently gains and owns ground for its next-generation products and progressive behaviours, driven by its mission to ensure AI benefits us all. Studio Dumbar/DEPT® has collaborated closely with OpenAI's brand and product design teams since Spring 2024. We are beyond proud to have played a part in such a pivotal time for this technology.
The intention and the action
We respect OpenAI's refreshing lean into realness, and have supported this authenticity through design, motion, and creative coding projects. OpenAI's holistic approach to brand invites the opportunity to bring inventive, applied creativity to multiple touch points. In experiential activations, we integrated digital assets to form a hyper-engaging presence for their Spring Update, TownHall, and DevDay events. We applied organic motion design to all their brand expressions to inspire and advise the brand's exponentially growing user base. And in the product, we crafted shader development and design for ChatGPT's Advanced Voice mode feature.
The difference
Human empowerment is the goal of OpenAI, and our work reflects that purpose. We have crafted the motion and design to enhance a state of academic beauty by applying restraint and making meaningful, poetic gestures. By bringing an intuitive, human edge to the experience of OpenAI's brand and products, we have aided accessibility to, and connectivity with, its unique advantages. The result is that OpenAI lives differently from other products and brands in the same space.
